Empowerment Workshops in Ndiob and Meo
🛖 Thanks to your orders and our electricity donations, 6 families in Ndiob and 10 families in Meo gained access to electricity for the first time – a total of 240 people whose lives will fundamentally change.
💬 In our workshops, we talk directly with families about solar power, our electricity donations, and the opportunities they bring. This time, I was particularly struck by how great the interest in renewable energies is and how purposefully they want to use them. People listened attentively, asked questions, and discussed with us.
💭 However, the workshops also revealed challenges. In a community without financial resources, it is difficult to generate income – a classic chicken-and-egg problem. The need for devices like solar pumps and refrigerators is enormous. We will be examining in the coming weeks whether and how SOCHILI can help here.❤️🔥 It was particularly moving to meet old acquaintances again. In addition, Anna, CEO of Africa GreenTec Senegal, had organized a surprise for us: The Senegalese press was on site and reported on our work the next day!
🥹 I had an intensive conversation with Ousmane, our contact person in the village, about whether our impact model really brings about long-term changes. His answer deeply moved me:
"Look at the families of Mamadou, Gorgui, and Saye. Thanks to SOCHILI, they have received free electricity access and can now, after one year, pay their electricity bills independently. The SOCHILI Good Plan works!"

How does our impact model work?
Our #sharethepower approach is simple yet effective:
- For every chili sauce sold, one day of solar power is financed for families in Senegal.
- The electricity primarily reaches people in rural areas who previously had no access to electricity.
- Together with our partner, the Africa GreenTec Foundation, we implement projects that bring about direct, tangible changes.
