Annual Review & Plans
Social Impact, Spices, Struggles and Solutions
2025 held a few surprises in store. Not all of them pleasant, but instructive nonetheless. What matters in the end is this: we generated a lot of social impact! The following is an honest annual review and our plans for 2026.
Impact Update for 2026
What we will have achieved by 2025
24,691 chili sauces & spices sold! This is not an inventory report. This represents 24,691 days of solar power for families in rural Senegal. People who now have reliable light for the first time. For learning. For charging. For self-determined living.
New Products: In 2025, we also expanded our product range with our SOCHILI Good Spices. Five new organic spice blends – from the mild Spicy Potato Mix to the fiery Extra Spicy Harissa. All with our fair-trade chilies from Senegal.
Challenges: We don't want to sugarcoat anything. 2025 also pushed us to our limits. No marketing budget. Sustainability became a niche topic. Partners who were struggling with their own challenges. Internal realignments. All of this at once – alongside our day-to-day business.
But that's exactly what we're proud of. We persevered and proved that you can do good by spicing things up. The biggest impact in 2025 came from companies that ordered SOCHILI as corporate gifts. But for everyone who ordered from the online shop: Moritz is still happy about every single order. Really. Every. Single. Time.

Impact since foundation, as of January 2026
Impact balance sheet
🌶️ > Sourced 3 tons of fair trade chili peppers from Senegal
⚡️ Provided 111 families with free access to electricity (more than half of them this year alone)
🤝 Held 7 empowerment workshops in Senegal, where we discussed the possibilities that come with solar energy
Outlook: What 2026 Brings
SOCHILI is still in the game! With sharpness and impact. Whether online shop, retail, or corporate partnerships: We bring our products where they belong. And new products are already in development!
New partners, same mission: To continue empowering Senegalese families with solar power, we had to reorganize. That's why we founded the Share The Power Foundation. SOCHILI now donates to this foundation, which then collaborates with NGOs in Senegal.
A big shout-out to bcause, a digital platform that allows anyone to set up a foundation – with the goal of "making everyone a philanthropist."
What doesn't change: We remain on site, in constant dialogue with families and farmers, to identify opportunities to empower people. Moritz is traveling to Senegal in two weeks to visit the chili farm and organize an empowerment workshop in Djibidione – a rural region in southern Senegal where 44 families will receive the SOCHILI Good Plan.

To continuously expand our impact, we have established a digital endowment fund!

Looking for Partners
We were able to finance the past six workshops with our own capital. However, this is no longer a sustainable solution. We need both short-term support and a long-term partner who can enable our work on site – i.e., the implementation of the empowerment workshops.
Here's how it works:
For every product sold (sauce, spice, or other), 0.51 € is donated to the Foundation – this amount corresponds to one day of electricity for a family in rural Senegal.
Once 365 days are collected (= 365 products sold), we enable a family to receive the ‘SOCHILI Good Plan,’ which includes:
1. Installation of solar power, including outlets and light bulbs 🛖
2. Free electricity usage for one year ⚡️
3. Participation in the local Empowerment Workshop 💬
Good to know: Additional donations via bcause directly fund the empowerment workshops. There, we discuss with families the opportunities and possibilities of solar power – for long-term independence.
